Before Ms. Nora offered me to get up on my Saturday to help show some students around, I kept thinking about what I wanted to do to help with things going on around me. With that being said, I ended really enjoying the day and I made some new friends along the way. As we got started with the tour, I realized we were actually going to go everywhere. When we did this, I realized they might be overwhelmed with all the different buildings that a regular student has to go to. We went started the tour at the famous “Howl” sign, since it was really cold outside, we decided to start with the student union. We walked everywhere that day, we went every building open up the young students’ minds. The seniors that were also giving the tour gave most of the tour. The older students knew where the going and what was in that building. My favorite thing from the tour would have to be talking about Greek life and how it changed me for the good. The best thing that happened that day would be when I first walked into the group of people and everyone was super impressed with my major. The young adult started asking me about what my plans after college are and what I wanted to do with my degree. The most surprising thing that caught my attention would be that everyone stayed in really good moods throughout the whole day. The most important thing I learned from this day was that I might want to actually start giving tours of the school. This day also helped me learn how to communicate with people a little more than I already had. The reason I decided to work this Ms. Nora that day is probably because I knew she’d help me when I would need it, so I raised my hand that day in class to help. This day was a big eye opener for everyone. The students also didn’t know where they were wanting to go to college because of the ACT scores they had. I would just hope for the students that they start saving up money now so they can go on ahead and get their education.
